I feel for you and all. It is excruciating. I interviewed you around 1996, along with leaders in the peace movement. I have been going to congress with Doctors Against Genocide, monthly, and also J Street and Code Pink and engage with J Street, JVP, If Not Now, NIF, PPI and more. What about the possibility of taking a leave and seeing if you could do some good from the outside? I appreciate your efforts and proposals for resolutions. There is a lot of resistance to the 2 state solution, and to the 1 state solution. Johan Galtung. my mentor, thought of a 6 state solution modeled after the European Community. I like A Land for All. I agree with a comment you made before- first stop the violence, then get new leadership on both sides and then figure out a solution. There will need to be truth commissions and collective processes and rituals and teshuvah and apologies and reparations and much, much to get past the utter horror.

Gershon, I have admired your dedication to making Israel and light unto the nations and followed you over the years……and envied you. In 1974 I wanted to make Aliyah because I had hope of making Israel a beacon for the world. Shulamit Aloni and two others from Ratz were elected to Knesset in 1973 and had big plans. (But I was pregnant then and my husband —who had refused to serve in Vietnam —could not imagine writing a blank check to a millitary. So I went back go to the US and have spent most of my time supporting every Israeli-Palestinian organization, publicizing them, trying to get American support. I began with Breira which was the first American Jewish organization calling for a two-state solution when it was considered traitorous to speak of that So it has also been my adult life’s mission, to believe that Israel’s progressive inclinations needed US support no less than its government needed US arms. And now I too, nearing the end of my life, am in despair. Maybe for people like us there ARE NO HOMES IN THIS WORLD. Thanks for all you do and have done.Maybe there be a miracle or a silver lining.
